Promoting the Art of Liu Jing
- Liu Jing is a master who has made outstanding achievements in the creation of Jun porcelain.
- I learned about her through a senior collector whose appreciation of Liu Jing’s sculptures aroused my interest.
- On a sunny afternoon in May, I drove to Liu Jing’s studio in anticipation of an in-depth exchange with the master.
A Lost Discovery

- On the way to Liu Jing’s studio, I said goodbye to the hustle and bustle of the city and traveled along an unnamed highway that snaked up the mountain.
- The surrounding nature was breathtakingly beautiful, with towering red-brick chimneys and mottled iron gates forming a beautiful picture in the distance.
- When we arrived at Liu Jing’s small courtyard, the sound of birds chirping in the breeze added a touch of poetry to it all.
A candid conversation with the artist

- In this small and quiet exhibition hall, I met Liu Jing and her partner Lou Gaoqiang, who are the “immortal couple” of ceramics. Although it was the first time we met, it felt like a reunion of old friends.
The sincerity, simplicity and enthusiasm of the two artists made me feel warm. During the exchange, they shared their arduous struggle for art and told how to turn the hardships of life into motivation for creation.
As the night fell and the courtyard was filled with moonlight, I was in a happy mood, filled with admiration for art and a sense of life.
